“David Olsen’s book, Jayu, illustrates that our country is currently under attack and we are in the midst of a war that is more dangerous and complex than any other war our country has ever fought. This fictional account is very timely and accurately reveals the extensive international use of cybercrime activities and security violations. Jayu sounds the alarm that immediate action is needed to identify these perpetrators and prevent them from destroying a way of life that is too often taken for granted. His fictional raid on the RGB Headquarters is awesomely realistic.”

“Dave and I worked together for many years on the development of advanced military systems. In his novel, Jayu, he has used his knowledge of military capabilities and world affairs to structure a fascinating fact-filled story of computer hacking sponsored by state actors that have become a tool of economic warfare and the primary source of income for rogue nations, potentially with the capability to cripple an adversary nation’s economy. Beyond this, it extends in the worst case to disruption of command-and-control systems that enable mod- em armies to fight with advanced weapons. Dave explores how a scenario is evolving where certain previously unacknowledged technologies can be brought to bear that could either trigger a major war between superpowers or peacefully resolve problems that have frustrated the Free World for over half a century. In this fast-paced narrative, we follow the efforts of major characters from his previous novel, Suspected, now restored as respected members of the intelligence community and operating at the highest levels of the nation’s security apparatus.”

Jayu grabbed me by the throat at the start and wouldn’t, let go, a marvelous plan to destroy the North Korean Cybercrime infrastructure with minimal loss of life.

“Just wanted to let you know that I finished reading Jayu last week. and I really enjoyed it! I normally just read non-fiction, primarily historical or military based, so I was a little curious if this was going to be for me. I also had at least some concern that much of it would be technically above my head. But I found that none of that was an issue. You laid the groundwork so well that the technical matters were not hard to follow or understand. Also, so much of it ties into current events that it was all very timely.”
